Martin Luther King Jr. Day events



Several events were planned throughout South Florida Monday to honor Martin Luther King Jr.
Beginning at 11 a.m. there will be a parade in Miami along Northwest 54th Street from Northwest 12th Avenue to Northwest 19th Avenue. The parade is expected to conclude around 2 p.m.




In Pompano Beach, there will be a parade beginning at 8 a.m. at Mitchell Moore Park at 901 Northwest 10th Street. The parade is expected to conclude around 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a celebration at Blanche Ely High School gym at 1201 Northwest 6th Avenue in Pompano Beach.




Hallandale Beach will also hold a parade and festival beginning at 10 a.m. at B.F. James Park at Northwest 2nd Avenue and 9th Street with the festival following at O.B. Johnson Park at 900 Northwest 8th Avenue.




Dania Beach will be holding it's 32nd Annual MLK Day parade and celebration beginning at 9 a.m. at Charlie Will Thomas Park at 100 Northwest 8th Avenue.
