The Le'Nalors Quick Auto Info " The 2014 Lexus The IS F "

The IS F is to Lexus' IS sedan range what the M3 is to BMW's 3-Series lineup - a serious performance sedan designed to put a big smile on the driver's face. It represents a marked departure from the luxurious but somewhat sedate cars on which Lexus has built its reputation.

Recent Changes
For the IS F's last year on the market before a complete redesign, Lexus has upgraded the speedy four-door with a few improvements, including LED fog lamps and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. Inside the IS F now boasts headrests embossed with the "F" logo, Alcantara trim on the doors and center console and semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats.

Overview
As with many performance vehicles, the centerpiece of the IS F is it's engine - a sonorous 5.0-liter V8 engine delivering 416 horsepower at 6600 rpm and 371 pound-feet of torque at 5200 rpm. This motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that features a unique torque-converter lock-up control that allows for direct, crisp gear changes through the constant lock-up of the torque converter in the second through eighth gears.

In Drive mode, the IS-F transmission performs smoothly, and the torque converter allows for quick zero to 60 mph acceleration of 4.6 seconds. The transmission also features a manual mode operated via a pair of paddles. Downshifts are accompanied by automated throttle blips to match engine RPM to vehicle speed.

Despite the IS F's high-performance nature, it still delivers decent fuel economy: 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA.

Heavy-duty Brembo brakes with 14.2-inch discs and six-piston calipers ensure all the power is kept under control. The IS-F features custom-designed 19-inch forged alloy wheels with 225/40R19 sized rubber up front and 255/35R19 at the rear as standard.

Lexus claims the IS-F can hit a top speed of over 185 mph, though the U.S. version is limited to 168 mph.

While the IS F was criticized for an overly harsh ride when it first launched, Lexus has since addressed that issue with a retuned suspension while also adding an updated electronic power steering system and a Torsen rear differential. Increased spring and damper rates and larger-diameter stabilizer bars midway through the production run helped create especially crisp and responsive handling.

Lexus recently updated the interior with new IP gauges, a silver colored-trimmed steering wheel, and dark finish aluminum composite ornamentation. The Sport mode switch has also been moved to the steering wheel for easier access.

In addition, vehicles with the black interior received Alcantara seat inserts with leather bolsters that enhance its sportiness. An all-new Orange and Black leather interior with contrast stitching flaunts the IS F's attitude and replaces the Terra Cotta interior

The IS F's optional navigation system incorporates Lexus' Enform infotainment system. Enform provides access to Bing search, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable, Pandora, Yelp and Facebook Places through compatible smart phones.

Standard and Optional Features
The IS F comes well equipped with perforated leather upholstery, a 13-speaker premium sound system with a six-disc CD changer, SiriusXM satellite radio and USB/AUX input jacks, Bluetooth connectivity, aluminum pedals and 19-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels.

Highlights from the options list include a 14-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, heated and ventilated from seats and a navigation system.

Occupant Safety
All IS F models come standard with dual front, front side, front knee and full-length side curtain airbags in addition to traction and stability control systems and brake assist.

Key Competitors
The IS F is aimed at performance-focused sedans like the BMW M3, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and the Cadillac CTS-V.

The Le'Nalors Quick Auto Info " Range Rover Evoque "

The Range Rover Evoque is the latest vehicle to join Land Rover's lineup, and it certainly stands out from the rest of the storied off-road nameplate's range due to its decidedly more road-minded design. The Evoque Coupe is the most style-oriented model in the lineup, while the Evoque Five-Door adds an extra dose of practicality.

The Evoque foreshadows a new, more urban direction for Land Rover, although the company says it will continue producing off road-oriented models. The automaker defends the street-ready Evoque model as a response to changing consumer preferences and stricter emissions standards.

Read more: http://www.leftlanenews.com/new-car-buying/land-rover/range-rover-evoque-coupe/#ixzz2jUpmJynX

Stylistically speaking
According to Land Rover, the Evoque is the smallest, lightest and most efficient vehicle the company has ever produced, measuring just 172 inches from head to toe. It was designed at the firm's Gaydon facility and is produced in Halewood. The Evoque is largely based on the Land Rover LR2, itself riding on a Volvo-developed platform.

Stylistically a dead-ringer for the automaker's LRX concept car that debuted several years ago, the Evoque boasts a much more aggressive shape than any Land Rover vehicle before it.

Inside, the squared off, symmetrical dashboard theme isn't unlike that found on the LR4 and Range Rover. The SUV can be had in one of three trim packages - Pure, Prestige or Dynamic.

Pure models feature brushed aluminum trim and neutral colors, while the Prestige badge brings with it two-tone leather wrapping nearly every surface and mixed wood and aluminum trim, as well as 19-inch wheels. Dynamic adds a sport-oriented interior and the availability of a contrasting-color roof and rear spoiler.

An available 17-speaker, 825-Watt Meridian audio system highlights the list of available tech goodies. Surround Camera System, hard drive-based navigation, rear seat entertainment, blind spot monitoring and keyless access make their way down from other Land Rovers.

Motivation
A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder plucked from former corporate parent Ford's parts bin provides motivation in the U.S. (European markets get a diesel option). The engine makes 240 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque and, working in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission, helps the Evoque sprint from zero-to-60 mpg about seven seconds and return 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

The Evoque comes standard with all-wheel-drive and a version of Land Rover's Terrain Response control is available.

Make it your own
As is usually the case with luxury vehicles, the Evoque can be had with an extensive list of custom configurations to suit your taste and style.

Some of the custom options include: 12 exterior colors, three contrasting roof colors, five different alloy wheel designs that range from 19- to 20-inches, 12 different designer interior configurations, black or chrome roof rails and a choice of wood or metal accents for the interior.

Occupant Safety
All Evoque models come standard with dual front, side, full-length side-curtain and knee airbags in addition to traction and stability control systems.

Key Competitors
The Evoque Coupe doesn't really have any direct rivals; the Jeep Wrangler is the only other two-door SUV on the market, yet it is far more off-road oriented, not to mention less luxurious, than the Range Rover. In terms of head-turning style, crossovers like the BMW X6 and Acura ZDX could be considered competitors to the Evoque Coupe.

The Le'Nalors Quick Auto Info " Aston Martin V12 Vantage "

The V12 Vantage could be thought of as Aston Martin's take on the classic Detroit muscle car formula. The car was created when Aston Martin stuffed its largest, most powerful V12 motor into the engine compartment of its smallest sports car, the V8 Vantage. The result is a straight-line monster but also, unlike many muscle cars of yore, a nimble machine in the corners.

The V12 Vantage has a 5.9-liter V12 that cranks out 510 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque and helps the car sprint from zero to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds. The engine features a ‘by-pass' engine air intake port that opens up at 5500 rpm, a revised induction system and re-profiled air inlet ports that further improve airflow into the combustion chamber to improve performance.

Although the V12 engine weighs 220 pounds more than the standard car's engine, the vehicle's overall weight only increases 110 pounds. This is possible due to widespread use of lightweight materials, including carbon ceramic brakes, forged aluminum wheels, lightweight rear quarter panels, and optional lightweight seats. Weight distribution is a near-perfect 51:49.

The V12 Vantage's Carbon Ceramic Matrix discs are 398 mm in diameter at the front and 360 mm at the rear while the brake calipers feature six pistons at the front, four at the rear and have a larger brake pad area compared to the V8 Vantage. Air ducts positioned within the lower front grille feed air directly onto the discs to aid cooling.

Exclusively available with a six-speed manual transmission, the car's gearbox uses a transaxle configuration to aid weight distribution. The V12 Vantage's final drive ratio has also been modified from 3.909:1 to 3.71:1. This allows the Vantage to take full benefit of the high torque levels delivered by the engine to provide both flexibility at lower engine speeds as well as a high top speed of 190 mph.

While the external dimensions of the V8 Vantage remain unchanged, the internal frontal structure has been extensively revised forward of the suspension towers to house the larger engine, brake cooling system and twin air intake system.

Unique to the V12 Vantage is the ability to toggle button between two powertrain modes. The default ‘normal' provides a more progressive, throttle response, suited to more everyday situations. Selecting ‘Sport' mode delivers a sharper throttle response together with a sportier exhaust note. In default operation, the Dynamic Stability Control is automatically switched on. Depressing the DSC button for two seconds selects ‘track mode' which raises the manner and threshold at which the system intervenes allowing the driver to explore the limits of the car's considerable handling capabilities. Depressing the button for four seconds will switch off DSC completely.

The V12 Vantage proved itself in 2009 by taking home a class victory at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, where it was driven by a group comprised of the company's engineers - including its CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez.

Major options on the V12 Vantage are limited to 700-watt stereo with Dolby Surround Sound; the car has the wide range of standard, coddling luxury features one would expect at the price point.

Black Edition
Aston Martin offers a special Carbon Black edition of the V12 Vantage for customers desiring for their car to have a unique aesthetic treatment. Featuring bespoke Carbon Black metallic paint especially formulated with a subtle metallic twist to create a deep rich patina., each car will undergo 50 man-hours of hand painting followed by stringent quality checks.

The side strake has been fashioned from real carbon fiber backed by a black mesh and complimented with gloss black 10 spoke diamond turned alloy wheels. A bright finished grille and front parking sensors (normally an option) complete the exterior detailing.

Inside, owners will be greeted by swathes of Obsidian Black leather highlighted with a contrast silver coarse stitch all hand stitched by the craftspeople at Gaydon - Aston Martin's global headquarters in England.

Key Competitors
Supercar rivals to the V12 Vantage are numerous and all offer their own distinctive traits. The Audi R8 V10 combines a brutish motor with a user-friendly chassis, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG serves up a combination of power, elegance and luxury, the Porsche 911 Turbo S uses Teutonic engineering prowess to provide blistering acceleration while the Ferrari 458 Italia brings Formula 1 technology
and performance to the road

Mayweather was favored 117-111 and 116-112 on two ringside scorecards while a third had the fight 114-114. Got to give it up to him . Congrats Floyd . Now if you have any thoughts on this fight ,feel free to share !!

The Le'Nalors Quick Auto Info " The Bugatti Veyron "

The Bugatti Veyron is, by every measure, the world's most extreme production road car. It's the quickest to 60, has the highest top speed, and can absolutely dominate a track.

The original Veyron claimed 1,001 horsepower, which in itself was a major technical achievement. Its engine, boasting 16 cylinders, was essentially formed by joining two V8 engines at the crank.

The W16 powerplant displaces 8.0-liters and features ten radiators for everything from the engine cooling systems to the air conditioner.

The standard Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupe ran a cool $1.3 million and could reach a top speed of 253 mph - a speed it can maintain for 12 minutes before all the fuel is gone. Power is transmitted to the pavement via four-wheel-drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission.

The car could hit 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, 100 mph in 5.5 seconds, and 150 mph in 9.8 seconds. Getting to 200 mph took 18.3 seconds, and 250 mph takes 42.3 seconds.

A special key is required to "unlock" the Veyron's top speed of 250+ mph. The car is then lowered to just 3.5 inches from the ground. A hydraulic spoiler extends at speed, and it can also serve as an air brake.

The Veyron weighs a hulking 4,160 lbs, but even its harshest critics admit its handling is surprisingly sharp. Gordon Murray, designer of the McLaren F1 was very skeptical of the Veyron during its development, but after driving the finished car, he conceded it is a "huge achievement."

Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson also publicly stated the Veyron was ridiculous and would never be built, only to call it "best car ever made" after he drove it. He famously characterized it as "utterly, stunningly, mind blowingly, jaw droppingly brilliant."

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is born
Bugatti has ceased production of the original coupe version of the Veyron, but continues to churn out limited edition open-air Veyron models. The latest such example, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, boasts an enormous 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft of torque.

Bugatti managed to bump the Vitesse to 1,200 horsepower by fitting the convertible with four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. Due to the car's open roof, additional chassis supports had to be added to the Vitesse to handle the added power, so the car's top speed will likely fall just short of the Super Sport's 267 mph top end.

Key competitors
Though nothing short of a jet can match the speed, power (and price) of the big Bugatti, similarly quick and rare performance machines include the Koenigsegg Agera R, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 and the Pagani Huayra

The Le'Nalors Quick Auto Info " The Porsche Panamera "

The Porsche Panamera is a large, luxurious four-door sedan that was introduced in 2009 and refreshed several times since. The last facelift brought about new lights on both ends, redrawn bumpers with a larger air dam up front, a plug-in hybrid drivetrain and a downsized V6 for the mid-range S model.

Porsche's first regular-production four-door sedan is offered with either rear- or all-wheel drive, and certain models can be ordered with a long wheelbase.

Visually, the Panamera is instantly recognizable as a Porsche thanks to stretched oval headlamps similar to the ones found other members of the family, slim vertical turn signals and three large air dams built into the bumper. Out back, the sedan features a sloping profile and a hatchback that helps free up a generous 15.3 cubic feet of trunk space.

Life Aboard
With room for just four passengers, the Panamera's interior is plush enough to rival Mercedes-Benz and BMW. A variety of trim surfaces including wood, aluminum and carbon fiber are offered at an extra cost, and buyers can pick between several upholstery colors to create a bespoke look. The instrument cluster consists of four analog gauges and one gauge that houses a TFT screen that can be configured to display numerous different types of vehicle information.

The dashboard features a 7-inch high-resolution touch screen that runs a high-tech infotainment system called Porsche Communications Manager (PCM). PCM groups the car's audio, navigation and communication functions into a single easy-to-use interface that packs a 40 GB hard drive, a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity.

In navigation mode, PCM can show routes in either 2D or 3D in order to give the driver an idea of what terrain variation he or she will encounter during the trip. The system also has a split-screen mode, making it access to get a map and a list of directions at the same time.

All of PCM's functions can be controlled by buttons, knobs or a built-in voice recognition software.

High-Tech Suspension
Select Panamera models come with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a system that varies damper forces in an infinite process and adjusts the dampers to road conditions and the driver's style of motoring. Incorporating adaptively controlled dampers with infinite adjustment of damper forces, PASM allows the driver, through the PASM button on the center console, to choose among three control maps - Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus.

In Comfort mode, the driver enjoys all the smoothness and motoring comfort of a grand touring sedan. Sport Plus thrills with the performance and agility of a full-fledged Porsche sports car, and Sport is middle ground between the two extremes.

The damper force required is consistently calculated and fed to the respective wheel in all three modes. The PASM mode chosen when the car is switched off is retained upon engine restart. A damper symbol is displayed in the instrument cluster for four seconds each time the mode is changed.

Panamera and Panamera 4
The entry-level Panamera is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that is derived from the V8 found in more expensive models. It features direct fuel injection, variable valve timing, an on-demand oil pump, water cooling with thermal management, a variable intake manifold and a fuel-saving Auto Start Stop system. Rated at 310 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque, the six-cylinder sends power to the rear wheels via Porsche's seven-speed PDK double-clutch gearbox manual transmission.

The sprint from zero to 60 mph is achieved in 6.0 seconds, a figure that drops to 5.7 with the optional Sport Chrono Package. Top speed is electronically limited to 160 mph.

An all-wheel drive system dubbed Porsche Traction Management (PTM) adds a 4 emblem on the hatch and several thousand dollars to the base price. With sensors permanently monitoring driving conditions, the speed of all four wheels and the steering angle, PTM can respond instantaneously to different driving requirements and situations. As soon as the rear wheels start to spin when accelerating, for example, a multiple-plate clutch intervenes more sharply to feed more power to the front wheels. In curves, the flow of power to the front wheels is carefully monitored to ensure optimum lateral stability at all times. And whenever the car's brake control systems intervene, PTM disconnects the front axle completely, allowing stability control to intervene individually on the appropriate wheels.

The base Panamera comes standard with partial leather upholstery, rear park assist, cruise control, an automatic hatch, bi-xenon headlights, a multi-function steering wheel and 18-inch alloy wheels

Key Competitors
The Panamera's competitors include the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the BMW 7-Series, the Audi A8, the Maserati Quattroporte. The Turbo S model squares off against the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, the Audi S8, BMW's M5, and the Aston Martin Rapide S, while the Hybrid model fights in the same arena as the BMW ActiveHybrid7 and the Lexus LS 600h L.

Base Price $75,850.00
